In my 22 years of existence, I have been lucky enough to experience living on both the east and west coasts. Now, having begun my journey residing in the entertainment capital of the world, I’d have to say, living in Las Vegas is the last place I thought I’d end up.

Growing up in Hull, Mass., a small town South of Boston, where I spent long summer days on the beach is what ultimately persuaded me to attend college at San Diego State University. Although I was ready to trade in my winter jackets and snow boots for year-long summer dresses and flips flops, I never thought I’d see the day where I would be living in a city with 120 degree dry heat and no ocean to cool off in.

However, location aside, choosing to accept the account coordinator position at Kirvin Doak Communications has been the best decision I have made thus far. I am now just coming off of my one-month anniversary at the leading public relations firm in Nevada and have enjoyed working at such a large office with professionals that have been with the company ranging from one to 13 years.

Knowing that I have planted my seed in an organization that I can learn and grow from is the most reassuring aspect of working at Kirvin Doak Communications. Not only do I have the opportunity to work with some of the most exciting clients in the world, but I get to do what I love while knowing that my potential to grow within the company is based on my performance, not on someone else’s next move who already holds the position.

I’ll never stop missing living in Boston or San Diego, but I made sure to decorate my cubicle to show my roots and memories from both cities.

I look forward to the future and all of the opportunities I will be given while working at Kirvin Doak Communications. Living in Las Vegas has been nothing short of great – plus, it doesn’t hurt to give my family and friends a fun place to visit!
